The first time ever multi-media exotic dance fest provides a retrospective and contemporary look at erotic dance as it develops into the 21st century. From nostalgia to satire to rage, this collections of films, videos and live performance presents the evolution of contemporary exotic dance with a view on issues for workers in the local erotic entertainment industries.
Presented as a benefit for Exotic Dancer's Union, the show features vintage footage of burlesque queens including Tempest Storm and others, videos by sex workers curated by Hima B., including Gina Gold and Gina Velour, and live performances by post modern stripper/performance artists.
Stripper Sinema will be online from the Roxie during the festival at the website for Bay Area Sex Workers Advocacy Network (http://www.bayswan.org) cybercasting highlights of 21st Century Stripper Cinema as well as information and discussion about working conditions in San Francisco Strip clubs.
